Daniel Bergeson

Daniel Bergeson is the Co-Founder of Ascolta Ventures, LLC.  Daniel has been active in the venture capital industry for over 25 years, both as a founder of a venture fund, counsel to various funds and as an investor. Daniel previously co-founded ASI Ventures with Al Shugart, the Founder and former CEO of Seagate Technologies. He is also on the Board of Advisors of DOOR, a company focused on solving various housing problems through non-linear housing equity vehicles.

Daniel is also the founder of Bergeson, LLP. Bergeson, LLP has offices in San Jose, San Francisco, and Beverly Hills and represents companies in high-profile and high-stakes litigation throughout the country.  The firm was named to the U.S. News – Best Lawyers in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Daniel has consistently been named to Best Lawyers in America in the specialties of intellectual property law, commercial litigation, and corporate law and was named a 2020 and 2021 California Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation.  He served as the President of the Board of Governors of The Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL), as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s deposition and trial advocacy programs, and as a member of the Mediation Panel for the United States District Court, Northern District of California.  Daniel is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF).

Daniel holds a B.A. from The Honors College at Michigan State University, a J.D. from University of Michigan, and completed Stanford University Graduate School of Business Executive Program for Growing Companies.

Daniel is an enthusiastic athlete, having completed in several triathlons, as well as running the New York City Marathon, and completing in Masters Swim Competitions. Daniel also summited Mt. Kilimanjaro with Co-Founder Mike Abbott and is training to climb Aconcagua in Argentina.
